Chemres E-10P
The Chemres E-10P was developed and commercialized as an oxygen mask for emergency evacuations using the Japan Pionics chemical technologies.
It is a self-contained breathing apparatus in which the carbon dioxide (CO2) and moisture (H2O) in the breath of the user react automatically with potassium superoxide (KO2) to produce oxygen.
It is sold under the Chemres® trademark as a product with performance evaluated by the Fire Equipment and Safety Center of Japan, and is used in a variety of fields.
- Safe and@Reliable, Enclosed and Circulatory Type Respiration System, usable in oxygen-deficient or poisonous gas-filled environments.
Unlike conventional oxygen masks, the mask does not require an external source of oxygen and does not use air from the outside either. It converts the potassium superoxide (KO2), allowing the wearer to breathe in the enclosed mask so that an emergency evacuation can be safely carried out. The mask does not cause such secondary hazards as catching fire. - This is the smallest and lightest of all the self-contained protection masks.
As a result, it is also the quickest and easiest to put on.
The mask is packed in a small container the size of a can with a height of only 180 mm. The mask itself weighs 650 g, and even in its can weighs only 880g, making it the smallest and lightest of all the self-contained protecting devices. Oxygen in generated immediately after the can is attached over the face of the wearer, making it possible to face emergency situations. Even the infirm or elderly can easily wear it. - The mask can be used for about 10 minutes, which is sufficient time for the wearer to walk a distance of about 1,000m from the disaster area to safety.
The mask has been designed to generate oxygen for about 10 minutes. During this time the wearer can walk at a brisk pace, while breathing oxygen at 30 liters per minute. This allows the wearer to cover about 1000m in order to get to safety.(If the wearer walks at a normal pace, it is possible to breathe oxygen for about 20 minutes. If the wearer stays still, it is possible to breathe for about 30 minutes.) - Remains effective for 5 years. Requires no maintenance.
The mask remains effective for 5 years from the date of production. It requires none of the maintenance of individual parts, such as the columns, joints, or tank, which is often required with other systems.
Various compact carrying cases are available for fixed installations or mobile facilities, wherever they are required.
Cases for four or two units are available.

Applications: We recommend keeping the mask in your first-aid kit to provide critical assistance during emergency evacuations in hotels, inns, high-rise buildings, elevated parking-lots, underground construction sites, steel mills, shipyards, semi-conductor plants, and chemical plants, including factories where poisonous gas is handled.
